In 2020, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus the Austrian government imposed several restrictions on people's circulation according to the development of the disease in the country.
One of the first measures were the switch from in person to online classes in all Austrian universities. With that, most students, especially international students are staying solely in their dorms.
Staying home and protecting yourself is crucial, specially in a pandemic context. However, if it gets too overwhelming for any reason and you still have to consult a book, many libraries across Salzburg remain open.
This map illustrates the main libraries in Salzburg (mainly in Salzburg city). Most of them are open during these times, but with strict safety measures that must be followed by everyone.
Opening time and access to reading rooms may change due to the development of the pandemic, for more information check the websites. For information regarding the libraries of the University of Salzburg check: opening hours.
